'Deal'
As the battle between Earth First and the Legion of Doom wore on, Commander Jarrod of the League of Shadows desperately waited for
information that would lead him to Tempest's kryptonite ring, a ring that he
believed could kill Lex Luthor. Finally he received word from a member of Earth
First known as 'Shark' in
In an abandoned building in Park Row, in the East End of Gotham, Commander
Natasha met Agent Smoke whom had been tracking the location of Shark and his
friends. Natasha learned from Agent Smoke that Shark had been followed by some
Luthorcorp operatives.
Shark and his gang ran through the streets of
Together, Natasha and Shark discussed the situation in the building's basement
while the others prepared for battle.
Shark followed Natasha down a flight of stairs into the basement. Natasha led
him to a dark tunnel in the corner. "What is this?!",
Shark asked.
"That's the way out", Natasha said casually.
"Oh, no! Hell, no!",
Shark said. "That's a freaking sewer!"
"We don't have much time", Natasha persisted. "They're on their
way."
"You want me to swim through that! No way!",
Shark said.
"Your friend Phaser can't phase
you through concrete, Shark, not with Tempest's ring. And Star Sapphire doesn't
take prisoners", Natasha said plainly.
"You told me you'd protect us!", Shark said.
"We'll do our best to protect X'r and Phaser, but we don't have much time", Natasha replied.
"Not good enough!", Shark continued. He
turned around and stared at the tunnel.
Natasha walked over to him. "You know the situation", she said
casually. "We, and Earth First, we're outnumbered. The three of you might
be the last ones left."
"So I'm supposed to leave here, on your word, and meet this agent?! What's
his name?! Pennyworth?!", Shark asked bitterly.
"Yes", Natasha said hopefully.
"I want to know who he is!", Shark demanded.
"Tell me who he is!", he continued.
Natasha paused for a moment, and then told him, "His first name is Alfred.
He's my boss."
"Alfred?", Shark thought to himself as he
stared out at the tunnel. After a few seconds Shark jumped into the water and
took off.
